Delaware Daughter -- When she came out as transgender, Sarah McBride embraced the roll of activist, which meant addressing Delaware's political leaders on behalf of the state's LGBT community.

In the last 18 months or so, we’ve introduced video content aimed at giving team members better tools and knowledge to do their jobs.
It began with an experiment called
Nied to Know that explored North Texas, the new home of our North American Headquarters. Eventually, Nied to Know expanded to cover auto shows and our headquarters itself.
A few months ago, we introduced
Test Drive, which showed off Toyota’s latest and greatest products, like the C-HR and Camry.
Well today, we’re excited to introduce the latest video series:
Driver’s Seat Video Feature. Considering you’re reading this in
Driver’s Seat, we’re guessing the title is self-explanatory. Basically, think of our usual
Driver’s Seat content, but this time in moving picture form.
What’s more, we’re kicking off
Driver’s Seat Video Feature with a very special episode. That’s right. This one comes with a powerful message about inclusion and diversity.
During Pride Month in June, Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Press Secretary Sarah McBride came to Toyota’s new headquarters in Plano to meet with Spectrum, our LGBT business partnering group. A few years ago, McBride made national headlines when she came out as transgender while serving as student body president at American University, in Washington, D.C. She has since championed several initiatives, including gender identify rights legislation in Delaware, and is a powerful voice for the LGBT community.

And, while we’re talking about Pride Month, we want to recognize our friends in Mississippi. Last year, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Mississippi, partnered with the Mississippi HRC on a program called “Love Your Neighbor,” which resulted in a
video series featuring members from the LGBT community sharing their experiences.
