TSSC’s 25th Anniversary: Saving Sight

As TSSC gets closer to its quarter-century birthday, we remember the great things it’s done outside of the auto industry

June 14, 2017
Paving the Way – TSSC’s Toshiyuki Kitamura works with Harbor-UCLA Medical Center to help reduce wait times
for appointments and surgeries.

Throughout its existence, one thing TSSC has proven is that the Toyota Production System (TPS) can do more than just efficiently build vehicles.
It can be applied to almost every walk of life. That’s what we’re going to show you, as we unveil Part 2 of our run up to TSSC’s (which stands for Toyota Production System Support Center) 25th anniversary in September.
This video – Saving Sight – is taken from a 2015 series called The Toyota Effect, which showcased different ways Toyota was changing the world outside the auto industry.
All you need to know about this video is a quote that comes from a Harbor-UCLA Harbor Medical Center doctor about 4 minutes in: I never thought that implementing the Toyota Production System would help save lives or keep people from going blind. But it has.”
We could tell you more, but honestly, it’s better to watch the short film directed by Oscar nominee Kief Davidson. So, to watch Saving Sight, just click here.
